Before procurement comes the vital step of product evaluation. We carefully maintain (and constantly seek to enhance) databases of knowledge, drawn from vendors, customers, implementors and product company partners, on the leading products in our fields. These include all the leading ECMS and EDRMS sector products and also many products in the "intermediate" and "light" markets and those in related fields.
Our primary aim in product evaluation is to give the customer the right facts to base accurate decisions on and to assist, but not dictate, customer thinking and viewpoints, to extend knowledge in customer organisations and to help define the field and the correct product ranges for that field. Sometimes product evaluation can be misplaced by over-responding to certain parameters or metrics and deprecating others which are actually more significant. Infocycle has large experience in multiple implementations and can identify many common misunderstandings or mistakes in these areas which can prevail even amongst experienced IT professionals or managers, simply through wider experience in the field. Many product evaluation points are bound to knowledge of working with only one or two major vendors and this can result in limitation; Infocycle aim to assist customers in "widening the field" and examining possibilities that may not otherwise have presented themselves.
